Please make yourself familiar with the Rules and Regulations of USA Muay Thai. Everything you need to know is in their Rule Book. Below are some MTSS bullet points that you should be familiar with.
The MTSS matchmaking process is very stream-lined. We call it "tournament-style" matchmaking. We have created divisions based on gender, age, weight and experience... the same way that tournaments create brackets. If two athletes are in the same division, then a match has been made.
A confirmation about the match-up will be sent to both coaches. If a coach declines the match, then that athlete is considered unavailable for the event.
The matches are made "with-in reason". Meaning, it's possible that a 0-1 athlete with 1 smoker will be in the same division as an athlete that is 6-0. Even though both athletes are C-class, we will not make this match. The same applies if there are two athletes from the same gym in one division.
All athletes are required to have blood work and a physical within 6 months of competition.
The Request-A-Test Combative Trio is the most convenient and fastest way to have the CORRECT BLOOD WORK. It's $89 and you can get your results in about 3-4 days, sometimes less.
All athletes, coaches and gyms need to be registered with USA Muay Thai.
Athletes: $25/year
Coach: $25/year
Gym: $100/year
We use IOC standardized weight classes. We don't make "catch weight" matches. Go to the USA Muay Thai Rule book for weight classes (under RULE VI).
Weigh-ins will be held the morning of the event from 9am-11am.
Athletes must wear Muay Thai shorts on the scale at weigh-ins. There will be no weight allowances at weigh-ins.
We consider all sanctioned and unsanctioned in-ring experience. ANY COMPETITION that happens IN A RING OR CAGE needs to be part of an athletes record (boxing, MMA, kickboxing, Muay Thai, MDL, YDL, PKB... anything). Please be honest, we check.
All experience is considered one bout.
Example:

2 PKB (in a ring)
2 In-house (not in a ring)
1W-0L MMA
